Operational Program Transport - our way to the goal

It is important to have a goal and find a path to its meeting. The Slovak Republic has multiple goals – need of good roads and modern railways, which would offer deserved comfort in travel, time savings, safety, and also jobs to the people of Slovakia. That is why the Operational Program Transport was created.

Operational Program Transport is based on the philosophy of the European transport policy, which refers to the support of projects that are of importance not only in terms of traffic, but also from the perspective of the economy. Through this program, we are able to target funding directly to regions most in need. In practice, it is mainly going on  the construction of motorways and roads, modernizing railways, removing restrictions and accident road sections and buying new railway vehicles for the suburban and inter-regional traffic. All activities are covered by the Ministry of Transport, Posts and Telecommunications of the SR through the National Motorway Company, Railways of the SR, the Slovak Railway Company and the Slovak Road Administration.
